Peru is divided into three regions by the Andes Mountains, which runs from north to south.
The country is made up of the coastal region, the plateau/mountain region, and the rainforest region. The plateau region, which includes the Andes Mountains, is famous for the cultivation of potatoes, of which there are many varieties.

The coastal region produces asparagus, avocados, mangoes, and other agricultural products. In recent years, Peru has taken advantage of its fertile soil for the cultivation and production of asparagus, expanding its market share in the world’s major countries. It has grown into a highly valued product, and is well-regarded in terms of both quality and variety.

In terms of fruits, avocados and mangoes are mainstay exports, and Peru is also expanding their exports to European countries. Just south of the equator, the mango harvest begins around December. Peruvian apple mangoes are exported around the world due to their high quality. Avocados are another important and expanding export.
