Fried Cauliflower Rice with Hijiki
2018.12.09
This dish takes the traditionally Japanese-style hijiki and gives it a Western twist by adding cauliflower rice and bacon. The texture of the cauliflower rice adds a nice accent, making this a dish enjoyable even for those who aren’t fond of hijiki. (Ingredients for two people)
Veggie Maria Cauliflower rice | 100g |
Hijiki(dried) | 5g |
Bacon(half size) | 4 Slices |
Butter | 5g |
A Soy Sauce | Tbsp 2/3 |
A Cooking sake | Tbsp 1/2 |
Salt and Pepper | Appropriate amount |
Preparation
- Thaw the frozen cauliflower rice in the microwave. Rehydrate the hijiki in water. Cut the bacon into approximately 1 cm widths.
- Heat oil (not included in the ingredients) in a frying pan, then add bacon and cauliflower rice to sauté. Once the bacon is cooked, add hijiki and Ingredients A, and stir-fry over medium heat until the moisture evaporates.
- Once the moisture has evaporated, reduce the heat, add butter, and stir-fry until it melts. Finally, season with salt and pepper to taste.
