The Costa Rican government is promoting the development of sustainable agricultural production technologies that are in harmony with the natural environment, particularly the development of alternative technologies to prevent environmantal pollution caused by chemical pesticides, and the cultivation of disease-resistant crop varieties.

In addition to coffee beans and bananas, which are major industries in Costa Rica, the country has also been eagerly and successfully producing new agricultural products such as pineapples in recent years.
